As you may know, my brother Stuart was diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia in 2015. At the time a bone marrow transplant wasn't possible but I am very happy to say that he received a stem cell (bone marrow) transplant from an anomymous 27 year old female donor from the USA on 16/4/2025 and is recovering well.
The importance of this life saving gift cannot be overstated. To register as a potential donor is a simple process. In the unlikely event you are a match, even the donation procedure is fairly straightforward and non invasive.
So how good would it be to save someone else's life just by registering!
The local support organisation here is Arrow and I'm asking everybody if they can please register to become a donor and provide financial support for the work Arrow does helping people who are waiting for, or going through, a BMT.
To show my support I'm running the Sutherland2Surf on the 20th July with my dad, Graham.
To register as donor just conact Australian Red Cross.

Thank you
