Annabelle Jayne Pace
16/07/2023-18/02/2025
Rian, Samantha, and family are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our daughter Annabelle Jayne Pace, after a 12-month battle with Brain cancer.
In February 2024, at just 6 months old, our perfect little girl was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumour, her only symptoms a few days before were vomiting and becoming a bit sleepy. Our family relocated from Rollingstone NQ to Brisbane with a days’ notice for 7 months. Surgery was used to remove the tumour, followed by multiple rounds of conventional and high dose chemotherapy including stem cell transplants. After this treatment which is more intense than what most adults receive, the cancer continued to grow.
We moved home at the end of August 2024, trying to put our life back together. Annabelle and Samantha were still traveling back and forth to Brisbane for immunotherapy and in December she had more disease progression. We were lucky that Annabelle has had a period of being “well” where we were able to make memories and enjoy the time together.
We will never be able to thank everyone enough; our parents; family and friends; her treating team and those that supported us financially, physically and emotionally. Thankyou for helping us try to save our little girl – we got an extra year with her.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, please feel free to make a donation to the Brainchild Foundation, a National charity that supported us and is committed to raising awareness, support, research and treatment of Brain and Spinal cord tumours in children.
