As a parent you do all you can to keep your children happy, safe and healthy. So, when you find yourself sitting in a doctor's office and they tell you that your child has a life threatening brain or spinal cord tumour, life as you know it is changed forever.

Brain cancer treatment is intense and lasts for many months. It impacts the entire family often causing dislocation and isolation as one parent becomes the primary carer while the other strives to maintain a wage. Regional families also fight the tyrany of distance, including accommodation and transport costs as they try to keep the family together during treatment. Around 74% of children will survive brain cancer in Australia, but this does not tell the true story of the difficulties young people and their families face after treatment.
